Gotham Greens has expanded to four greenhouse facilities spanning more than 170,000
square feet in New York and Chicago. An
additional 500,000 square feet of greenhouses are under development in five states,

StickyLickits, Calistoga, Calif., showcased
edible stickers designed to get kids to eat
more produce. Featured in PMA’s Just for
Kids Showcase, the stickers are free of sugar,
nuts and soy and are vegan.
Raw and Living Foods
Nutrient-packed and fantastically
fresh, raw and living foods were featured prominently at PMA’s Fresh Summit,
such as Shenandoah’s living organic line of
herbs and lettuces and Fresh Cravings’ nev-er-cooked or -pasteurized line of fresh salsas.
Rockingham, Va.-based Shenandoah
Growers Inc. (SGI) featured lush living herbs
and living organic herbs. It received PMA’s
Best Overall Produce Promotion award for
its Behold the Future of Food product display.
SGI introduced new promotional displays
for its That’s Tasty brand of Living Organic
Herbs, Organic Fresh-Cut Herbs and Organic
Microgreens, as well as its new Organic Stir-in
Purees that will hit markets next month.
A self-proclaimed “21st century salsa
brand,” Fresh Cravings of Phoenix showcased its line of small-batch refrigerated salsas made from fresh vine-ripened tomatoes
and vegetables. The company won PMA’s
Best First-Time Exhibitor award.
Another first-time exhibitor, Tempe, Ariz.-based Rango Honey, featured its line of
all-natural raw honey from the Sonoran Des-

From Renaissance Food Group’s
new Pot Roast Kits to Mann Packing’s new Nourish Bowls for breakfast, consumers will have no shortage of tasty and easy
ways to get more vegetables in their diets.
Renaissance Food Group, Rancho Cordova, Calif., a wholly owned subsidiary of
Calavo Growers Inc., featured new Garden
Highway One Pot Kits. The product line was
created as a solution for fresh, easy-to-pre-pare meal kits that consumers can make at
home in an instant cooker or slow cooker.
Garden Highway One Pot Kits are avail-
able in varieties such as Minestrone Soup,
Pot Roast and White Bean Chili. Each kit con-
tains fresh veggies, herbs and other ingredi-
ents. Consumers can make them as a quick
vegetarian meal or add protein.
Also, Mann Packing of Salinas, Calif. is
rolling out Nourish Bowls for breakfast. Consumers just add eggs and microwave. With
the addition of two eggs, the bowls offer 25
grams of protein. The two new breakfast varieties—Fiesta Scramble and Denver Omelet—
join Mann’s other mealtime Nourish Bowls.
Mad for Mushrooms
Through its wildly successful The
Perfect for home blending, Monterey
Mushrooms Inc., Watsonville, Calif., introduced a new line of Let’s Blend, finely diced
mushrooms ready to mix with ground meat.
Mushroom suppliers are also going after
the booming healthful, plant-based snack
market with a variety of tasty offerings,
such as Giorgio Portabella Jerky from Blan-don, Pa.-based Giorgio Foods and the newly
launched line of Shrooms Crispy Mushroom
Snacks from Kennett Square, Pa.-based South
Mill Mushrooms/Champ’s Mushrooms.
According to Nielsen data commis-
sioned by the Plant Based Foods
Association, total growth of all plant-based
food (including meat, egg and dairy alter-
natives) in retail grew 20% for the 52 weeks
ending June 2018, topping $3.3 billion over
the past year.
