March of the Golden
The National Frozen & Refrigerated Foods Association (NFRA)
has revealed its Golden Penguin Award winners for its 2017
March Frozen Food Month promotion, which includes 31 Gold
and 40 Silver prize recipients.
To create a renewed level of prestige and recognition for this
flagship awards program, NFRA made significant changes to the
Golden Penguin Awards program last year. New categories that
better reflect today’s marketing practices, a streamlined online
entry system, a numeric scoring platform and a redesigned award
provided a fresh opportunity for companies to be nationally recognized for excellence in merchandising and marketing frozen and
refrigerated foods, say officials with Harrisburg, Pa.-based NFRA.
Eleven new categories were included this year: In-Store Display,
In-Store Event, Community Involvement, Social Media Campaign,
Traditional Marketing, Private Brand Campaign and Overall
Marketing Campaign with subcategories for Retailer, Wholesaler,
Manufacturer, Sales Agent and Local Association. In addition, the
Top Marketer Awards honor the best of the best, with the highest
scoring entry in each of the Overall Marketing Campaign subcategories being named Top Marketer.
The Gold Award winners will be recognized at the
Networking Reception on Monday, Oct. 9, at NFRA’s
Convention in Orlando, Fla., and the five companies honored as Top
Marketers will also be feted. Silver Awards are typically presented at
the local level at appropriate frozen food association meetings.
