ShopRite has partnered with Huggies Brand to donate up to 500,000
diapers to the National Diaper Bank Network, a nonprofit organization
dedicated to providing diapers to babies in need.
ShopRite and Huggies donated a day’s worth of diapers to the National
Diaper Bank Network each time a customer purchased any size Huggies
diapers at ShopRite stores or online though ShopRite’s mobile app and
ShopRite from Home service. The program ran Aug. 23 – Sept. 2 and from
Sept. 24 – Oct. 7.
According to a study commissioned by Huggies, one in three American
families struggles to afford the diapers needed to keep their baby clean, dry
and healthy. To help raise awareness of this “diaper need” plight, Wakefern
Food Corp., the Keasbey, N.J.-based retailer-owned cooperative servicing
ShopRite stores, has partnered with Huggies.
“Since 2010, our No Baby Unhugged program has donated more than
200 million diapers and wipes to families in need, and yet there is still more
to be done,” says Eleanora Daireaux, VP of Huggies North America, a brand
of Dallas-based Kimberly-Clark. “We are excited to partner with ShopRite
and the National Diaper Bank Network to help raise awareness for this
issue, and donate up to half a million diapers to provide families with the
resources they need to care for their babies.”
New Haven, Conn.-based National Diaper Bank Network’s active mem-
bership includes more than 300 diaper banks, diaper pantries and food
banks in 47 states and the District of Columbia.
