PURINA AND WESTMINSTER ENTER
Nestle Purina and the Westminster Kennel Club have begun a
10-year agreement making Purina Pro Plan the exclusive pet
food sponsor of the world-famous dog show. A five-year sponsorship, from
2012 to 2016, preceded this. The partnership pairs the oldest continuously
held dog show in the country with the maker of Purina Pro Plan.
The 141st Annual Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show was held Feb. 13-14,
and included Westminster Week, a series of activities that spotlight purebred
dogs and popular companion sports that people can enjoy with their dogs.
The first was “Meet & Compete,” which combined the AKC Meet The Breeds
Presented by Purina Pro Plan and the fourth annual Masters Agility Championship
at Westminster on Saturday, Feb. 11. It was followed by the 141st annual all-breed dog show Feb. 13 and 14, and the second annual Masters Obedience
Championship at Westminster Feb. 13. Purina Pro Plan is the exclusive pet food
sponsor of all the Westminster activities.
The Westminster Kennel Club is America’s oldest organization dedicated to
the sport of purebred dogs. Purina Pro Plan is the food of choice for the past 10
Westminster Best in Show winners, and St. Louis-based Purina says the handlers
or owners of these champions may have received Purina Pro Plan dog food as
Purina ambassadors. For more information, visit proplan.com.
Ainsworth Pet Nutrition, manufacturer
of the Rachael Ray Nutrish line of pet
food and treats, has partnered with Spotify
to sponsor four of the music streaming service’s
popular playlists throughout 2017 as part of its
“Moments that Matter” campaign.
As part of the yearlong partnership, music
lovers will be served advertisements for Rachael
Ray Nutrish while listening to playlists that align
with the brand’s specialized recipes for dogs and
cats. The first sponsorship, which launched on
Feb. 1, aired during Spotify’s “Dinner” moments
and focuses on the brand’s successful Dish from
Nutrish Ultra Premium dry dog food. Inspired by
real recipes from Rachael Ray’s kitchen, Dish from
Nutrish features whole ingredients and includes
real U.S. farm-raised chicken or beef as the No.
Rachael Ray Nutrish will also sponsor Spotify’s
Outdoor, Chill and Holiday moments during July,
October and December, respectively. Pittsburgh-based Ainsworth says that over the past year
retail sales of Nutrish have climbed to nearly
$440 million. A portion of proceeds from each
sale of Nutrish is donated to the Rachael Ray
Foundation, which helps animals in need through
Rachael’s Rescue, rachaelsrescue.org. For more
