Making Room for Growth
Since its grand opening in February 2017,
Mazfresco has refined its product lineup,
polished the fresh food menu and reset the
store’s layout for better traffic flow. But with
such an overwhelming community response,
the market has already begun to framework
plans for expansion.
In 2018, Mazfresco plans to add another
6,000 square feet to the store’s footprint,
bringing its total size to about 14,500 square
feet. The additional space will allow the
retailer to broaden its kitchen, produce and
nonfoods departments, and minimize shelf
crowding to create a spacious, welcoming
feel. “We’re at a point where we realized we
need to expand to be able to reach more of
our market,” says Phillips. “Right now, you
can’t quite fill your whole shopping list here.
We know customers want to be able to buy a
lot of the things that a typical grocery store
carries, and that extra space is going to give
