today’s time-crunched, internet-savvy shoppers.

Susan Viamari: On the whole, the CPG industry is seeing very
weak growth. Unit sales slipped slightly (0.4 percent) and dollar sales ticked up slightly (0.5 percent) during 2016. This follows
several years of no unit sales change and +1.8 percent in dollar
sales (which was largely the result of inflationary prices).
The beverage sector (which is combined center store and
perimeter beverages) is a bright spot. Units +1.6 percent in
2016 and dollars +1.9 percent. This sector has been positive for
